Privacy
Council Record is a public archive. You can read, search and watch without an account, and without being tracked.

If you only read the site
- We don't use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and we don't build profiles.
- The site is hosted on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes your IP address and request details to deliver pages and stop abuse, and keeps short-lived operational logs.
- Some choices are saved only in your browser's local storage: your light or dark theme and the topics you pick to sort the activity feed. They never leave your device. Clear your browser's site data to remove them.
- If you play a video or follow a link to Seattle Channel , YouTube or the City of Seattle, that site's privacy policy applies.
If you sign up for email updates
Signing in uses an emailed sign-in link or Google. Cloudflare Access may also provide email-code or Google sign-in. Account data is stored in Cloudflare D1. We store:
- Your email address and, if you used Google directly, Google's account ID for you. We don't receive your Google password or contacts. Google may return profile information during sign-in, but we don't store your profile photo.
- The city and topics you follow, and whether email updates are on.
- Which updates we have emailed you, so we don't send the same one twice.
- A sign-in cookie (
__Host-cc_session) that keeps you signed in for 30 days. It's essential, secure and HTTP-only. We store only a hash of it. - Hashed copies of your IP address and email to limit repeated sign-in attempts. Rate-limit records expire after two hours and are removed by scheduled cleanup; cleanup delays can keep them longer.
Emails are sent from [email protected] through Cloudflare's email service or our email delivery provider, Resend, which processes your address only to deliver the message. We use your email only to sign you in and send the updates you chose. We never sell it or share it for marketing.
Your choices
- Stop emails: use the unsubscribe link in any update, or turn email off on your account page.
- Sign out: on your account page. This deletes the session.
- Delete your account: contact Seattle Digital Commons and ask us to delete it. We will delete your email address, topics and delivery history.
Children
Email updates are not intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
